Maybe you want to learn about plant-based cooking. Or maybe you’re an old pro looking for some fresh inspiration. Whatever it is that brought you here, welcome! I’m happy you’re here.

I’ve been experimenting in the kitchen all my life but started cooking solely with plants about two years ago. Since then, I’ve fallen in love with the versatility, flavor, and creativity of plant-based cooking. It’s been my goal to create food that not only tastes good but is good for you (and the planet) too.

As a relatively new vegan, I am familiar with the many misconceptions surrounding vegan food- it’s bland, inconvenient, and boring. I will admit, I was in this camp for most of my life. Before I started learning more about it, plant-based cooking was a complete mystery to me, but since taking the time to learn about new ingredients and techniques, I’ve come to wonder why more people don’t cook this way. I’ve found plant-based cooking to be good for the mind, body, and planet- without sacrificing an ounce of flavor.

In February of 2022, I was diagnosed with Stage 3B Chronic Kidney Disease- news that came as a complete shock. Since then, I have had to make modifications to my diet to delay my inevitable kidney transplant. Lucky for me, I was already eating a plant-based diet, something that can be extremely beneficial to kidney function. In addition to sticking with plants, I also needed to reduce my salt intake (which took a little more adjusting to). Through trial and error, I have found an approach that works for me, and that still leaves me feeling satisfied. As I continue to learn, my goal is to help others who may be in a similar position along the way.

This site is dedicated to this journey. And is hopefully a starting point to help you on yours. You’ll find recipes that are simple, easily to modify, and kidney-friendly. So poke around, find what speaks to you, and get cooking!
